A NOVEL FDA-CLEARED DEVICE FOR IBS IN ADULTS HAS ARRIVED

After years of pain, bloating, cramping, unpredictable symptoms, countless consultations, extensive testing and treatments that have failed to make you feel better, this innovative treatment—researched and studied in children since 2012 and now FDA-cleared for adults—has the potential to improve the lives of patients living with IBS, and we believe that potential is extremely promising.

You're frustrated. Exhausted. Beginning to wonder whether you'll ever find meaningful relief and get your life back.

At IBS-Neuro Care, we are a neuromodulation center that has treated multiple complex diseases from a unique neurological perspective. For decades, we have studied how abnormal electrical signaling within the nervous system contributes to chronic symptoms. Our approach is based on the growing understanding that IBS involves more than the digestive tract—it also involves the nervous system and the way these systems communicate.

IBS Hasn't Changed.

The Way We Treat It Has.

What is happening?

It’s time to re-think IBS, it’s time to see a neurologist.

For years, IBS was thought of primarily as a digestive condition. As our understanding of IBS continues to grow, we're learning that it may also involve communication between the gut and the brain. When these signals become disrupted or overly sensitive, normal digestive sensations can be amplified, contributing to bloating, cramping, discomfort, poor sleep, anxiety, and emotional distress.

Our goal is to help regulate that communication through neuromodulation, reducing the abnormal signaling between the brain and digestive system, supporting healthier communication along this pathway and helping patients regain control of their daily lives.

IB-Stim: A Novel FDA-Cleared Treatment for IBS In Adults

A science-driven approach that uses gentle neuromodulation to target the nervous system and support the gut-brain connection.

WHAT IS IB-STIM?

IB-Stim_device_lg.webp

IB-Stim is a small, wearable, minimally invasive neuromodulation device applied near the ear. Four tiny transcutaneous (on the skin) electrodes are placed behind the ear and connected to the stimulator.

It delivers continuous, gentle, low-level electrical stimulation to nearby nerves while you go about your day. The device is worn for five days, removed for two days, and this cycle is repeated over four weeks.

WHY DOES IT WORK FOR IBS?

IB-Stim sends gentle electrical signals through nerves behind the ear that connect to brain regions involved in pain processing, autonomic balance, and gut sensation.

By modulating these neural pathways, the device helps reduce the abnormal signaling thought to contribute to key IBS symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, cramping, urgency, and visceral hypersensitivity. This approach targets the neurological component of IBS-addressing how symptoms are experienced, not just where they occur.

WHY WE ARE EXCITED

As neurogastroenterology specialists, we focus on disorders where the nervous system and digestive system intersect. We have followed the clinical research behind IB-Stim since its early use in children in 2012.

With its strong safety profile, meaningful outcomes in clinical studies, and now FDA clearance for adults, we believe IB-Stim represents a new, non-pharmacologic option for appropriate patients seeking lasting symptom relief.

Our mission is to bring innovative, science-backed solutions to patients who have often been told "there's nothing else to try."

BEYOND IB-STIM

A Complete Gut-Brain Program

WHOLE PERSON CARE. BACKED BY NEUROLOGY

IB-Stim is one important tool, but it is only one part of our comprehensive approach. Because IBS is a disorder involving communication between the brain and the digestive system, treatment often requires more than a single therapy. Every treatment plan is tailored to the patient and may include neuromodulation, laboratory evaluation, gut-brain behavioral therapies, acupuncture, ketamine-assisted therapy for appropriate candidates, and other evidence-based interventions—all working together to support healthier communication between the brain and the digestive system.

ACUPUNCTURE

Gut-Brain Focused Acupuncture

Targeted acupuncture designed to support nervous system regulation and complement neuromodulation treatment. Gut-brain focused acupuncture to regulate nervous system activity and reduce symptom severity.

MENTAL HEALTH

Gut-Brain Therapy

Because IBS can affect anxiety, stress, sleep, and quality of life, we provide access to therapies focused on the emotional side of the gut-brain connection.

ADVANCED CARE

Ketamine-Assisted Treatment

For selected patients, ketamine therapy may help address nervous system sensitization and symptoms associated with the gut-brain axis under continuous neurological supervision.

WHOLE-PERSON CARE

Comprehensive Blood Work

Laboratory testing helps identify vitamin, nutritional, and biological factors that may influence nervous system health and recovery.
